Great Western Malting Co. believes that better beer begins in the barley field. As such, we have developed a strong, direct relationship with growers in the western United States. Through our field-staff-directed contracting system, barley is contracted across a five-state area.
Focused on irrigated production, Great Western Malting’s goal is to contract the best quality malting barley at prices that help sustain our farmers while helping us maintain a highly competitive standing in the industry.
Through our network, we are able to differentiate ourselves by having on-the-ground contact and communication with hundreds of malt barley growers. This unique communication allows us to provide information from the brewer to the farmer, and from the farmer to the brewer, in areas that include variety development, specific quality traits, and overall industry concerns and opportunities.
