Hops

Country Malt stocks a comprehensive range of pelletized domestic and imported hops.

Belgian Candi Syrups

We stock the Belgian Candi Syrups in 5 gal drums. Larger sizes are available as special order items.

Dark:
The original caramelized sugar of traditional Belgian ales, this syrup is deep red/black in color. Its flavor is full of soft caramel, vanilla, plums and raisins. It is highly fermentable.

Dark 2:
This syrup’s flavor is a mix of burnt sugar, figs, ripe fruit, toffee and dark chocolate. It is highly fermentable.

Amber:
Made using the same process as the dark syrup, amber is lighter in color with a less intense candi syrup flavor. It is highly fermentable.

Clear:
A traditional light-colored candi syrup, it is cooked briefly to achieve high fermentability and to partially invert sugar. It will not add any color to wort.

Heavy Toast:
Brings pronounced caramelized, carbonized and toast flavors very quickly. It doesn’t need much contact time.

Medium Plus Toast:
Is between Medium and Heavy Toast. It has aromas of honey, roasted nuts, and a hint of coffee and spices.

Medium Toast:
Has less tannins but more bouquet, so it will impart more aroma than flavor. It has a warm, sweet character with strong vanilla overtones.

Light Toast:
Has fresh oak, coconut and fruit flavors.
